Brandon Barlow is a lifelong outdoorsman, whitetail hunter, and one of the original solar professionals in the U.S. 🇺🇸 He is an electrical engineer that currently manages the east coast solar operations for a French based electric utility. ☀️

Getting an early start in 2008 he designed and installed many of the first grid-tied systems on the east coast. To date he has helped implement & manage more than 10,000 acres of native 🌻 pollinators, one of the first “large scale“ programs of its kind. Brandon has harvested over 50 mature bucks, with more than a dozen taken on the first sit using a field-proven system he personally developed.

That system, now known as The 70 Rule, blends strategic tracking, fawn aging, and repeatable data into a rut-hunting framework that works anywhere deer live. Brandon’s passion lies not only in chasing mature bucks but in teaching others how to hunt smarter through real-world experience and natural patterns — without relying on bait or gimmicks.

He has written dozens of articles on whitetail strategy and photovoltaics alike. Brandon lives in North Carolina with his wife Laura and daughter Laila. His new books — How to kill a mature buck in one sit and The FULL History of Whitetail Hunting— combine a deep respect for the animal with hard-earned insight, aiming to change how people understand deer forever.
