Brandon Barlow is a lifelong outdoorsman, whitetail hunter, and one of the original solar professionals from the East Coast — having worked on some of the first grid-tied systems in North Carolina. He’s harvested over 50 mature bucks, with more than a dozen taken on the first sit using a field-proven system he personally developed.

That system, now known as The 70 Rule, blends strategic tracking, fawn aging, and repeatable data into a rut-hunting framework that works anywhere deer live. Brandon’s passion lies not only in chasing mature bucks but in teaching others how to hunt smarter through real-world experience and natural patterns — without relying on bait or gimmicks.

He lives in North Carolina with his wife Laura and daughter Laila, and spends his time between hunting, fishing, and managing solar operations for a major utility. His new books — The 70 Rule and The FULL History of Whitetail Hunting— combine a deep respect for the animal with hard-earned insight, aiming to change how people understand deer forever.
